Patrik Laine’s move away from the Montreal Canadiens appears to be very close.
According to various insider reports, the Canadiens and Laine’s agent have been making preparations related to a trade for several weeks now. Adding fuel to the fire is the Finnish forward’s wife, Jordan Leigh-Laine. Leigh-Laine posted a video on her Instagram account showing her walking into the Canadiens’ home arena, the Bell Centre — perhaps for the last time.
The caption on the video was anything but neutral.
– “Last home game before the trade deadline,” Leigh-Laine wrote.
And that wasn’t all. She added an even more suggestive message to her post:
– “I can’t lie: I shed a couple of tears during the game.”
Her choice of words immediately sparked speculation among hockey fans — was this a farewell to Montreal?
Laine’s name has been circulating in trade rumors for quite some time, so with the trade deadline approaching, even the smallest hints are being scrutinized closely.
The NHL trade deadline expires this coming Friday.
