Snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullivan is set to make his long-awaited debut on the World Seniors stage at the 2026 World Seniors Snooker Championship, taking place at the iconic Crucible Theatre this May.
Widely regarded as the sport’s most commercially successful and captivating figure, “The Rocket” will headline what promises to be the strongest field ever assembled for a World Seniors event. O’Sullivan’s participation marks a historic moment for the Seniors tour, bringing one of snooker’s greatest icons to its most revered stage.
He joins a stellar line-up that includes World Champions Mark Williams, Stuart Bingham, and Ken Doherty, alongside multiple-time women’s world champion Reanne Evans.
The tournament, broadcast live on Channel 5, will also feature established Seniors stars including Jimmy White, Matthew Stevens, Tony Drago, Robert Milkins, Peter Lines, Anthony Hamilton, Dominic Dale, and reigning Seniors British Open Champion Joe Perry.
Meanwhile, Alfie Burden returns to defend his World Seniors title, fresh from his recent triumph at the WST Shoot Out.
World Seniors Chairman Jason Francis expressed his excitement:
“The most commercially valuable player the sport has ever seen will make his Seniors debut at the Crucible in May in an attempt to add another world title to his CV — wow! We’ve already sold more tickets than we did for the entire event last year, and Ronnie’s participation is set to drive even greater demand.”
