The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired forward Corey Perry from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2028 second-round draft pick, according to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun.

Veteran forward returns to Tampa Bay
Perry, 40, recorded 11 goals and 28 points in 50 games with the Kings this season.
The 6-foot-3 winger joined Los Angeles in the offseason on a one-year, $2 million contract after helping the Edmonton Oilers reach back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals.
This move marks Perry’s second stint with the Lightning. He previously spent two seasons in Tampa Bay from 2021 to 2023, helping the team reach the 2022 Stanley Cup Final, where they fell to the Colorado Avalanche.
Long and decorated NHL career
Perry was selected 28th overall in the 2003 NHL Draft by the Anaheim Ducks. Over his career, he has played 1,442 NHL games, recording 459 goals and 963 points.
He has played for the following teams:

- Los Angeles Kings
Perry also helped the Anaheim Ducks win the first Stanley Cup in franchise history in 2007, recording six goals and 15 points during that playoff run.
Awards and international success
In 2011, Perry won both the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP and the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy as the league’s top goal scorer after posting 50 goals and 98 points in 82 games.
The Peterborough, Ontario native has also enjoyed success internationally with Team Canada, winning Olympic gold medals in 2010 and 2014.
He also represented Canada three times at the IIHF World Championship, winning gold in 2016, and helped Canada finish first at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
