Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has been handed a six-month driving ban after being caught significantly exceeding the speed limit.
The young centre-back was recorded driving his Porsche Cayenne GTS at approximately 116 kilometres per hour in an area where the speed limit was just 48 km/h. According to authorities, the speed was nearly double the permitted limit, making the offence particularly serious.
The incident came to light after a speed enforcement camera captured the vehicle travelling at high speed. The case proceeded to court, where Yoro admitted his guilt. Following his confession, the court imposed an immediate six-month suspension from driving. During this period, he is prohibited from operating any motor vehicle.
In addition to the driving ban, the court ordered Yoro to pay a fine of approximately €770. He must also cover around €140 in court costs and pay a victim surcharge of €305.
The ruling serves as a reminder that traffic laws apply equally to everyone, regardless of professional status. For Yoro, one of Europe’s most promising young defenders, the penalty represents an off-field setback as he continues to establish himself at Manchester United.
